To apply for citizenship by investment from Malta, a minimum grant of €600,000 is required. If a grant of €600,000 is made, citizenship can be applied after a 36-month residence permit. If a grant of €750,000 is made, you will be granted Maltese citizenship after a 12-month residence permit. In addition, after the grant investment, a house must be purchased or rented to provide a permanent address. Costs for Maltese citizenship by investment can go up to $1,000,000 – $1,200,000 for a family of 3-4 people.

A foreign applicant for a Malta residence permit applies for a residence permit defined as Form K. The possible application fee is €5,000. An additional fee of €1,000 is payable for each dependent. The program offers two real estate investment options; One is to buy a house and the other is to rent a house. At this point, the real estate investment made by the applicant does not need to cover the required investment amount. Residence permit is issued after the real estate investment is made.

The applicant must pass due diligence testing to complete the IIP Application Package. Due diligence fees as well as a non-refundable deposit of €5,0000 and bank charges of €200 are required to be paid for due diligence background checks to be carried out.
